Abundance Foundation, Inc. provides secure housing during the very early months of the recovery transition period to help ensure the rest of the pieces become firmly established. Once housing is stabilized, the process of recovery can truly begin to flourish.
CAR Foundation support (2023) enabled Abundance Foundation, Inc. to provide short-term transitional housing for individuals in early recovery after treatment or incarceration. The grant covered rent, utilities, and other housing-related expenses for participants who lacked financial stability and had nowhere safe to go. This investment strengthened Abundance’s ability to expand its housing capacity and open doors to more individuals at risk of relapse or homelessness and turned immediate need into opportunity for renewal.
Many residents arrived after months or even years of uncertainty after living in shelters, cars, or unstable arrangements with friends or family. With a secure place to live, they could finally focus on recovery: attending therapy, maintaining sobriety, and rebuilding daily structure. For many, this marked the first time they experienced safety, stability, and dignity in a home environment that truly supported healing.
Beyond housing, CAR Foundation funding allowed Abundance to connect residents with essential wraparound services such as employment programs, mental health counseling, peer groups, and case management which laid the foundation for lasting change. By removing the most urgent barrier, a lack of housing, CAR Foundation’s support set in motion a chain of recovery, self-sufficiency, and hope. Each success story reflects a ripple effect that strengthens entire communities, underscoring why continued investment in Abundance Foundation Inc.’s mission matters.
