Abundance Foundation, Inc. provides secure housing during the very early months of the recovery transition period to help ensure the rest of the pieces become firmly established. Once housing is stabilized, the process of recovery can truly begin to flourish.
CAR Foundation support (2024) strengthened Abundance Foundation, Inc.’s Recovery Program by providing stable housing and holistic recovery services for individuals impacted by substance use disorder in Larimer County. This investment supported a comprehensive, housing-centered approach addressing sobriety, employment, mental health, and long-term self-sufficiency for residents facing significant economic and social barriers.
As a result of this funding, the program served 282 individuals over a 12-month period, exceeding its original service goals. One hundred percent of participants remained housed, with 63 percent achieving full self-sufficiency. More than 80 percent of clients maintained sobriety, 92 percent secured employment, and the majority reported strong improvements in mental health, community connection, and overall quality of life. These outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of pairing housing stability with intensive, individualized recovery support.
CAR Foundation funding helped Abundance Foundation deliver durable outcomes for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents, including individuals experiencing homelessness, disability, and reentry from incarceration. By investing in stable housing as the foundation for recovery, the Foundation supported a model that restored dignity, strengthened economic independence, and fostered long-term stability. This partnership illustrates how strategic housing investments can transform lives and create lasting, community-wide impact.
