HomesFund helps individuals and families find their path to homeownership. Through education, financial coaching, and down payment assistance, the organization supports first-time buyers in building knowledge, confidence, and long-term stability across Colorado communities.

CAR Foundation support (2024) strengthened HomesFund’s Homebuyer Education program, expanding access to critical education across Southwest Colorado’s rural communities. This investment supported the delivery of classes that introduce prospective buyers to the responsibilities of homeownership and the essential role REALTORS play in navigating pricing, contracts, negotiations, and long-term housing decisions.

With CAR Foundation funding, HomesFund exceeded its goals by delivering 21 homebuyer education classes across the region, serving 444 individuals representing 329 households. Programming reached residents in Durango, Cortez, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, and Silverton, including accommodations such as sign language interpretation to ensure accessibility. Funds supported instruction, travel across a large service area, and the staffing, coordination, and outreach required to sustain high-quality education in rural settings.
