Boulder County AIDS Project advances health equity by providing comprehensive care, advocacy, and prevention services for people living with or affected by HIV across Colorado’s Front Range, reducing transmission and stigma while improving access to medical, emotional, and practical support for long-term stability and well-being.
CAR Foundation funding (2023) ensured the Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) could maintain “House,” a group living residence providing safe, affordable housing for low-income individuals living with HIV. The grant covered essential property maintenance, staff time, and operational costs thereby preserving stable housing for four older adults who might have otherwise faced homelessness. All residents remained engaged in medical care and HIV treatment throughout the grant period.
Beyond providing a home, this partnership reinforced BCAP’s broader Housing Assistance Program, which served over 260 people living with HIV through case management, insurance navigation, and housing support. By maintaining reliable, secure housing, BCAP helped residents focus on their health, adhere to treatment, and experience renewed stability and dignity.
CAR Foundation’s investment played a vital role in sustaining housing access for some of Colorado’s most vulnerable residents. Through this targeted funding, BCAP preserved not only a physical home but also a lifeline that ensured individuals could remain close to their healthcare providers and continue living with security, connection, and hope.
