Dream Centers of Colorado Springs empowers women and children to break cycles of poverty through trauma-informed, research-based programs that promote health, stability, and lasting independence. With compassion and community at its core, the organization helps families build sustainable lives grounded in hope, healing, and opportunity for a brighter future.

In 2024, CAR Foundation funding helped Dream Centers of Colorado Springs continue transforming lives through Mary’s Home, a residential program for mothers and children escaping homelessness and trauma. The grant strengthened trauma-informed care, life skills education, and individualized coaching and gave 14 mothers and 22 children the stability, safety, and confidence to rebuild their lives and move toward independence.

The funding also reinforced a model prioritizing long-term outcomes, not just short-term relief. Two years after launch, 95% of families reported safety, 78% maintained stable housing, and 67% achieved financial independence or used minimal assistance. These lasting results reflect the program’s deep commitment to holistic healing by addressing not only housing, but the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of recovery.

CAR Foundation’s investment extended beyond immediate impact and laid the groundwork for future innovation. Dream Centers of Colorado Springs will expand its trauma- and resilience-informed work through the Big Dream Early Learning program, designed to provide specialized childcare for children who have experienced trauma. This next step will ensure that healing, stability, and opportunity continue to grow for generations of families rebuilding their lives with strength and hope.
