Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado empowers teen mothers and their children through a comprehensive, two-generation campus. Trauma-responsive programs integrate education, healthcare, early childhood learning, and family support, create a safe environment where young families build stability, skills, and pathways to successful futures.
CAR Foundation support (2024) strengthened Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado’s Housing Support Program, helping teen mothers and their children remain safely housed while pursuing education, parenting, and workforce goals. This investment allowed the organization to respond quickly to housing crises across six Colorado counties, stabilizing families within a comprehensive two-generation, trauma-responsive model.
CAR Foundation funding produced measurable, high-impact results. Among families referred for housing assistance, 99% avoided homelessness, 100% avoided eviction, and 95% remained housed after receiving support all of which exceeded program goals. In total, FloCrit reached 167 families, including rental and utility assistance, emergency housing support, deposits, and placement into stable housing or affordable housing waitlists, ensuring continuity and security during critical moments.
This stability created ripple effects far beyond housing. Families were able to focus on long-term success, contributing to a 79% high school graduation rate among senior participants and progress toward economic independence. By investing in flexible housing assistance paired with intensive case management and education, CAR Foundation funding helped prevent homelessness, protect educational outcomes, and lay the groundwork for generational stability and demonstrated the power strategic philanthropy has in the ability to change lives.
