Home Builders Foundation builds independence and elevates lives by creating opportunities for individuals and families with disabilities. Through accessibility-focused construction and home modifications, the organization helps people live safely, comfortably, and with greater dignity in homes designed to meet their unique needs.
CAR Foundation support (2024) strengthened Home Builders Foundation’s Accessible Home Modification program, allowing critical home modifications for Coloradans with physical disabilities across the Denver metro area. This investment helped ensure homes were safer, more accessible, and better suited to support independence and quality of life for individuals and their families.
Through this funding, Home Builders Foundation completed 362 accessibility projects for 160 clients, leveraging skilled volunteers and construction partners to deliver over $2.2 million in impact value. Modifications such as ramps, lifts, widened doorways, and accessible bathrooms reduced daily barriers and improved safety, with the majority of clients reporting greater independence and improved well-being.
CAR Foundation support also helped expand reach to underserved populations, including renters and Spanish-speaking households, while strengthening a refined service model focused on lifetime impact. By investing in dignity-centered, practical solutions, the Foundation empowered individuals to remain safely in their homes, eased the burden on caregivers, and helped families reclaim stability, confidence, and opportunity.
