CAR Foundation support (2024) helped San Luis Valley Habitat for Humanity advance its affordable housing program by funding critical building materials for a new home in Alamosa. This investment directly contributed to the construction of a four-bedroom home for a local family, ensuring progress toward safe, decent, and attainable homeownership.

Through this support, Habitat partnered closely with the future homeowner and her children throughout every phase of the build, from design to construction. Grant funds covered major components including roofing, drywall, stucco, and fencing, bringing the home to the final stages of completion. The result was a high-quality residence paired with a zero percent interest mortgage that keeps housing costs below 30 percent of household income.
