The PLACE delivers housing and wraparound support for homeless youth, offering life-changing pathways to stable housing, education, and employment. Through individualized services and community partnerships, the organization fosters resilience, opportunity, and hope for young people transitioning out of homelessness.
CAR Foundation support (2023) strengthened The PLACE’s continuum of housing programs for youth experiencing homelessness, helping ensure access to safe, stable housing paired with wraparound services. This investment supported Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, Homeless Prevention, and Transitional Living programs all of which addressed urgent housing needs for youth with varying levels of vulnerability.
Through this funding, The PLACE served 115 youth, which significantly exceeded its original goal, and covered rent, utilities, and intensive case management. While 69% of youth exited to safe and stable environments, many faced complex challenges that required sustained, individualized support. Stories like that of a young adult who moved from street homelessness into housing and began pursuing employment and education illustrate the life-changing impact of stability paired with trusted guidance.
CAR Foundation support reinforced a proven, youth-centered model that meets young people where they are while building pathways to independence. The experience underscored both the depth of need and the importance of long-term investment, informing future expansion efforts like The Launchpad, a 50-unit permanent supportive housing community. By investing in housing-first solutions for youth, the Foundation helped transform instability into opportunity, resilience, and hope for Colorado’s most vulnerable young people.
