Three Birds Alliance fosters resilience, promotes safety, and restores hope for individuals impacted by domestic violence. Through trauma-informed advocacy, counseling, shelter, and housing assistance, the organization helps survivors build stability, healing, and independence within supportive community programs.
CAR Foundation support (2024) strengthened Gateway Shelter, now operating as Three Birds Alliance, by expanding housing navigation and flexible financial assistance for survivors of domestic violence. This investment supported a housing-first approach that helped survivors transition from crisis into safe, stable housing while addressing the economic and logistical barriers that often prevent individuals from leaving abusive situations.
CAR Foundation funding helped support Three Birds Alliance Housing Navigation program, which placed 85 individuals representing 66 households into permanent or transitional housing during 2025. Flexible financial assistance covered critical costs such as security deposits, first month’s rent, moving expenses, and storage, allowing survivors to secure housing more quickly. Overall, Three Birds Alliance served 835 clients, provided 7,888 nights of shelter, and responded to more than 3,000 crisis hotline calls, demonstrating both scale and depth of impact.
CAR Foundation funding helped transform emergency shelter stays into long-term housing stability and safety. Survivors worked closely with housing navigators to access advocacy, case management, and landlord partnerships that supported successful transitions into independent housing. By investing in survivor-centered, trauma-informed housing solutions, the Foundation helped prevent homelessness, protect children from further disruption, and create lasting pathways to independence and healing for survivors and their families.
