CAR Foundation support (2026) will expand Valley Housing Fund’s Community Outreach and Education Program, strengthening access to clear, centralized housing information in a region facing severe affordability challenges. Funding will support the development and maintenance of the “Housing Help” resource, ensuring residents can navigate complex deed-restricted housing systems and identify attainable homeownership opportunities.

This investment will also support targeted education efforts for both real estate professionals and community members. Valley Housing Fund will host realtor information sessions and community forums that clarify eligibility requirements, purchasing processes, and long-term responsibilities of homeownership. These efforts will help reduce confusion, improve transaction outcomes, and equip residents with the knowledge needed to pursue stable housing in a highly competitive market.

CAR Foundation support will help fill a critical gap in Gunnison County following the loss of other housing-focused organizations, positioning Valley Housing Fund as a central hub for housing education and coordination.
